Viennese apple strudel

Viennese apple strudel is not just a piece of Austrian cuisine, but a true symbol of Viennese coffee house culture. Dating back to the 18th century, this traditional pastry combines the simplicity of ingredients with the artistry of preparation, making it a distinctive treat.

The classic Viennese apple strudel consists of a thin, elastic dough that is carefully stretched and filled with a filling of juicy apples, cinnamon, sugar, raisins and nuts. The key to the perfect strudel lies in the texture of the dough, which should be light and airy so that it becomes crispy when baked while the filling remains juicy.

We’ll tell you more secrets about Viennese apple strudel every day in the Gerstner K. u. K. Hofzuckerbäcker Show.
